I always seem to find an old road to travel. Freeways have their place, but I would rather travel the back roads of Arizona and Utah any day over driving at 75 mph on a freeway. I found a lot of the back roads in the Eastern United States to be paved, which I think is a shame. Travel needs to have at least a modicum of connection to the earth and dirt is definitely connected.
