This old road grader was left on a dirt road on the way to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. It may be an old Caterpillar pull type grader from the early 1900s, likely a
Caterpillar No. 4, Hi-Way Patrol model built from 1932 to 1942. When I was very young, we used to play on a very similar grader and imagine that we were on a ship traveling around the world. Much of our history is locked up in rusting equipment abandoned by the side of the road. It would be interesting to see who claims to own this wonderful machine.
