This is a kori bustard or
Ardeotis kori. Native to East and South Africa. Unless you live in Africa, you are probably not going to see this on your local birding tour. It is considered scarce which would explain why I have seen so few of them, also the fact that I haven't been to Africa. This one in in the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
