It is interesting to speculate as to why some flowers are more "popular" than others. Some differences, such as color and size, are obvious reasons. But I suspect that most of what we value in flowers is based on our overall cultural background. If we are taught that such-and-such flower is more desirable than others, we assume that value system. These orchids would be considered valuable and beautiful in some cultures and not so much in others.
