It may seem like I have a series going here with sand as the theme. That would be correct. I enjoy sand dunes in the abstract. One time hiking at the end of a forty-eight mile hike, we came to a huge 200 foot high sand dune. As we walked towards the dune, I kept saying to myself, "I hope we don't have to climb over that on the trail." Guess what? The trail went right up the sand dune. They can be pretty to look at, difficult to hike in.
