Great White Throne

Early settlers of the West were subject to hyperbole in their naming of landmarks. Referring to a large rock monolith as a throne was more common than you might think. However, in this case, the name fits the rock. We like to go to national parks in the winter or late fall because we usually have the place to ourselves or almost anyway. The light in Winter is far distant than it is in Summer. You get an interesting variety to the pictures.
