It is not very often I catch this amount of detail of a bird that seldom sits still for even a moment. The Greater Road Runner or
Geococcyx californianus is a member of the cuckoo family and lives in most of the Southwestern United States and Northern Mexico. I see these birds from time to time as I am walking Arizona, but not usually this close and with my camera in hand. This is a very impressive bird.
