The Rocks Talk

Sometimes, if you keep really still, and listen with your heart, you can hear the rocks talking to each other. They talk with the wind and the rain and ages that pass as the slowly erode into sand and dust.
They reflect on their previous lives as rocks coming up from the heat of the Earth to the surface and seeing the sun for the first time. They talk of ice in their joints and snow on their heads. Their sound in so faint that not all can hear it. Listen to the rocks.

  1. They speak of Time (with a capital "T"), the deep time that lasts millions or even billions of years. This is why I'm studying to become a geologist, a calling not unlike the spiritual sort.
