Colorado River Sandbar

The water in the Colorado River is dramatically different than it was historically. Because of the dams upstream, the water is cold and almost clear. Historically, the water would carry huge amounts of sand and soil that would be deposited in any eddy or backwater of the river. But now, the sandbars are being eroded by the river.
