This morning's fire map tells the story, the Nutrioso valley is surrounded by fire from the Wallow Fire. I will have lots of pictures to compare in the future.
I grew up in that area and spent many a summer day in my youth hiking and exploring around the south and west flanks of Escudilla. After many years away I returned and hiked the two trails on Escudilla last August. I'm glad I got to see the mountain and Alpine area one last time. It breaks my heart to think of that place burning...
