The
Desert Botanical Garden (DBG) is the gem stone in the Valley of the Sun. Every year they have a butterfly exhibit in the Spring. You can walk into a huge enclosure where there are hundreds of free flying butterflies. So that is the secret of the butterfly photos. This year we went early enough that the butterflies were still mostly intact. Later on in the season they get a little ragged looking. If you come to Phoenix and miss seeing the DBG, you miss one of the few spectacular things in the whole Phoenix area.
