A Spring Carpet

Nothing transforms the desert quite as much as a bountiful carpet of Spring wildflowers. Normally, grey and brown, the ground is transformed into a display of yellow so bright and cheerful. If you were going to try to see this kind of flower show, you would have to be quite persistent in reading the news and driving out into the desert where the flowers might be hiding. This display usually only lasts a week or so before it is gone.
