This is a Landis #1 Harness Stitcher on its original dual-pedal treadle stand. I understand that the machine can also be hand-cranked for close detailed work. The logo is on the fly wheel at the top of the machine, but the the letters have been worn off through use. This machine was in use in the early 1800s. I found this in the Provo Pioneer Village. I wonder if those working in the village know what it is?
