I have always been fascinated by peacocks. We used to have some that lived on our neighborhood. If you haven't been around peacocks, you might not know that they are extremely loud and have a cry like the alarms that go off when you open the wrong door. They would often perch on the top our roof and wake us all up in the morning. Their home was a large orange grove, just to the south of our house. Phoenix probably doesn't have a peacock population any more, since all the groves are now houses or businesses.
