Red Cayon

Highway 12 in Southern Utah likely has some of the most spectacular scenery in the world. This is the main route to reach Bryce Canyon National Park, but even before you reach Bryce, you drive through some fantastic rock formations in an appropriately named Red Canyon. These formations are similar to those in Bryce, but simply not included in the National Park. The area is part of the Dixie National Forest and has its own visitors center. The Canyon is approximately 7 miles from Panguitch,Utah. Reach the Canyon on Highway 89, turn east onto Highway 12. From the junction it is approximately 3.5 miles to the Visitor Center, which is located near the Red Canyon Campground. Bryce Canyon National Park is a 13 miles away.
