It would seem to be unusual to put so much emphasis on a small pond, but when you live in the desert a dependable water supply is vital to survival. The ancient inhabitants, of what is now Arizona, appreciated the dependability of the sinkhole we call Montezuma's Well. The interior of the sinkhole has several very old Indian ruins. In addition, the location is a beautiful place. In the Winter, without leaves on the plants and trees, you can see more of the walls of the sinkhole.
