More about monuments, needles and such

Rather than being just a common landform, needles or monuments have been commonly used as landmarks by early travelers. Some become famous because of their location and visibility. Others, in remote desert areas stay obscure. This is a prominent needle or monument near Oatman, Arizona. When I was younger, I would have viewed this as a challenge to climb, now I am content to look at them and take pictures.
